Reviewing email attachments in Harvest

When an email you forward to Harvest contains attachments, Harvest parses the content of those files into the suggested records and shows each file alongside the email body so you can check the source while you validate the data.

    What gets parsed

    • Harvest reads supported attachments and uses their content to populate fields on the suggested records, the same way it uses the email body.
    • Supported file types:  .docx, .pdf, .jpg,.png, .txt, .csv, .xlsx, .heic.
    • Files that finished in a Failed state are not shown and are not used for parsing.

Viewing files while you review a record

When you open a suggested record to review it, the left panel shows tabs to switch between the Email body and one tab for attached files.

    • Attachments tab displays all files that are not in Failed status.
    • Switching between tabs does not change anything you have entered on the record.
    • Files are shown read-only.
    • Clicking into the file opens up full file preview.

      This works in two places:

    • Creating a record — in the Edit & Create view for a suggested (Pending) record.
    • Reviewing a duplicate — in the Review & Compare / Comparison view when updating an existing record.

Working with attachments in the Update Existing window

When you open the Update Existing (Review & Compare) window for a record with an attachment:

    • Click a previewable file name from the attachment tab.
    • Click into file to open full file preview.
