As an admin, you have the ability to configure which objects are searchable within Ascendix Search. This guide outlines the steps to enable previously unsearchable objects, such as junction objects like AccountContactRelation, to be included in the search. By following these steps, you'll be able to locate these objects in the Object Manager and make them searchable in Ascendix Search.
1. Navigate to Custom Metadata Types:
- From the Salesforce Setup menu, use the quick find box and type Custom Metadata Types.
- Select Custom Metadata Types from the search results.
2. Locate the SearchableObject__mdt:
- On the Custom Metadata Types page, find the SearchableObject__mdt metadata type.
- Click on the name of SearchableObject__mdt to view its details.
3. Create a New Metadata Record:
- Once you're on the SearchableObject__mdt page, click the Manage Records button.
- Click the New button to create a new metadata record for the object you want to make searchable.
4. Fill in the Required Fields:
- Label: Provide a user-friendly label for the object, such as Account Contact Relation, to help identify it in the interface.
- Searchable Object Name: Enter the API name of the object you wish to enable for search, such as AccountContactRelation.
- Object Name: it will be populated automatically.
5. Save the Record:
- After filling in the required fields, click Save to save the new record.
- The object will now be included in the list of searchable objects in Ascendix Search Object Manager.
After saving the record, navigate to the Object Manager. The newly configured object should now appear in the list of objects. Click the checkbox next to the Account Contact Relation to make it searchable and click on Save button.
After saving, the object should appear in the dropdown menu.
