Overview
AscendixRE 1.43 adds a third Gross Fee Method on Deal — By $ per SF — alongside the existing Percent and Amount methods. This guide covers the manual steps to enable it and the validation setting that controls it.
Admin Responsibilities:
- Enable the By $ per SF picklist value on the applicable Deal record types
- Add the Fee Rate per SF field to page layouts
- Review field-level security and the related validation setting
Prerequisites
-
Permission Set Required:
AscendixREAdmin - Applies only to Landlord Representation and Tenant Representation Deal record types
Configuration
Step 1: Enable the picklist value
- Go to Setup → Object Manager → Deal → Fields & Relationships → Gross Fee Method.
- Confirm the value By $ per SF is present (it ships with the package).
- Enable it for the Landlord Representation and Tenant Representation record types.
Step 2: Add the Fee Rate per SF field to layouts
- Go to Setup → Object Manager → Deal → Page Layouts.
- Open the Landlord Representation and Tenant Representation layouts.
- Add Fee Rate per SF (
GrossFeeRatePerUOM__c) to the Financial / Forecasting Information section, below Gross Fee Amount.

Step 3: Check field-level security
GrossFeeRatePerUOM__c ships readable and editable for the Broker and Lite permission sets. It is not granted through the Admin permission set — if your admin users also need edit access, grant it explicitly via a permission set or profile.
Step 4: Review the Gross Fee validation
The VALDealGrossFeeRatePerUOM setting blocks saving a By $ per SF deal with a blank or zero Size or Fee Rate per SF, naming the missing field(s) in the error. It's active by default; disable or scope it by record type in the AscendixRE Admin Console (Business Logic → Automation) if it doesn't fit your process.

A broker can't see or edit Fee Rate per SF
- Confirm the field was added to their Deal record type's page layout (Step 2).
- Confirm their permission set grants edit access (Broker and Lite do by default).
-
A By $ per SF deal won't save
- Confirm both Size and Fee Rate per SF are filled in and non-zero.
